As a salesman, I love talking about vehicle wraps. To me, a vehicle wrap is a no brainer. When looking at per thousand exposures, the wrap is a very inexpensive investment ($.38 / 1000 exp.) compared to the next less expensive form of advertising, the billboard ($3.27 / 1000 exp.). Wraps are also some of the last un-regulated signs available.
However, I also understand the customer’s hesitation because of so many questions that I am asked. So, let’s put some of the uncertainty to rest.
- How much will a wrap cost? The cost of a wrap is determined by area; however this can easily be controlled by using area stickers and cut vinyl along with a partial wrap.
- Will it damage my vehicle’s paint? No. The adhesive is designed to remove along with the vinyl when the wrap needs to come off. As a matter of fact the wrap protects the paint from road grime, nicks and sun exposure.
- Will the ink run, smear or wash off? No. The ink is protected by a second coat of laminate. Both the printed vinyl and laminate are special materials made for vehicle curves and outdoor exposure.
- Should I wrap the roof? A roof wrap is an added cost since this is more area to charge for. If your vehicle is very short or going to be in an area with a lot of tall buildings where the advertising may be seen often, then you may want to consider the added exposure.
- Can you wrap the windows and will I be able to see out? Yes, the vinyl used on the windows is a perforated vinyl which allows us to print on the outside and the inside acts like a tinting. But because of the tinting effect DOT laws do not allow tinting of the windshield or front side windows.
- Can changes be made to phone numbers or addresses? Yes. Any area can be changed with a simple replacement printed vinyl and applied over the original. This may be necessary when a company changes physical address, web address, phone number or any other change.
